Code of Conduct

Nativity BVM CYOParent/Coach Code of Conduct As a parent/or coach with a child participating in Nativity BVM CYO sports and as acondition of my child’s participation, I agree to the following:1. I will not force my child to be a participant. 2. I will remember that the children participate to have fun and the game is for them. 3. I (and my guests) will encourage good sportsmanship by showing respect, courtesy and by demonstrating positive support for all players, coaches, officials and spectators. 4. I (and my guests) will not engage in unsportsmanlike conduct with any official, coach, player, or parent including, but not limited to: booing, taunting, or using profane language or gestures. 5. I will encourage my child to treat other players, coaches, officials and spectators with respect regardless of race, creed, color or ability. 6. I acknowledge that encouraging children to have fun and to learn the game is more important than winning. 7. I will respect the officials and coaches and their authority during games, including a request to leave the field. I will not question or confront them at the field, and I will notify CYO representatives if I have a problem with a coach, official or other parent.8. I will refrain from coaching my child or other players during games unless I am one of the coaches of the team. 9. A parent/guardian must be present in the gym with any family member or friend under 21 years old (other than the player) during any game and/or practice. I, the undersigned, further agree that if I (or my guests) am/are ejected from a CYO sanctioned game, meet or match (home or away) for any reason; I will be prohibited from attending the next scheduled game, meet or match (at minimum). I also agree that my child (player) will be suspended for the next scheduled game, meet or match. If I (or my guests) am/are ejected from a subsequent game; I will be prohibited from attending any further scheduled games, meets or matches for the remainder of the season. I also agree that my child (player) will be suspended for the next scheduled game, meet or match.
